Reduce noise by lowers the defined decibel level and below by this value. The untrained ear probably couldn't hear any difference though.
Reduction type doesn't affect the noise cancellation effect noticably, however if you listen closely it does change it ever so slightly. ( I have converted this file to mono for Goldwave)
You should be left with something like this: Click | Okay| when you are satified with the results. Now, move the slider bar below the grid, to the right to reduce noise the further it is to the right, the move noise it will remove.Ĥ. In the | Reduction Envelope| box, select | Use Clipboard|. Go to | Effect| > | Filter| > | Noise Reduction|. Select the part that of your sound that you want filtering out, copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl + C). If you try to do noise reduction on a stereo file, it will simply create static/white noise in the left channel always.ġ. This means that you have to have a mono sound.or with a stereo file, you can seperate both channels and save them as mono, the process them both sound files with Noice cancellation, then combine the two mono channels, put one of the channels on the left channel, and the other one on the right channel. It works only on one audio chanel, the right channel. Goldwave, when it comes to Noise reduction is.put bluntly, a bitch. The sound that I will be using throughout the tutorial will be one of my own recordings of me scraping a comb, which I will using in all 3 programs to demostrate noise cancelling / reduction capabilites.
#SONY SOUND FORGE PRO 11 NOISE REMOVAL HOW TO#
I'm going to show you in this tutorial, how to use the noise cancellation / reduction effect in 3 popular sound editing programs Audacity, Goldwave, and Sony Sound forge 9. This effect has a few distiguishable ways of functioning: you might manually select an area as a 'sample' of what you want to be removed, you could define what you want to be quietened through sliders which select things like at what decibel level the noise cancelling / reduction works on, etc, etc. This can be very handy for sound recorders who have a recording which has a 'humming' 'hissing' or some other type of consistent background noise, which they want to remove, to give the recording a nice, cleaner presense to it. Noise cancellation / reduction does basically what it says on the tin, so to speak: it reduces (quietens) noise. If you like my stuff, add me to your watch list I am frequently releasing content, most of which, may be of relevance to you if you're into sound.
